Founder & President
Eugene Freeland

Eugene has an inherent eye for success, knowing the right path to take on both an individual project level, as well as long-term company success. After graduating from West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, he served in the US Army Corps of Engineers. He received his MBA from The University of Texas at Austin and worked as a Certified Public Accountant for Coopers & Lybrand. Eugene joined a to-the-trade furniture and fabric manufacturer in Dallas as the CFO/COO in 1998 where he helped manage the company through a tremendous ten-year growth period. As a partner with the company's two original owners, he co-founded four successful furniture and textile companies serving the design industry. Drawing on that success and experience, Eugene founded Link Outdoor in January 2008 and serves as the company's President.

Director of Design Marc Kurlander, Modern Luxury Furnishings, LINK

Design Director
Marc Kurlander

Marc Kurlander is an award winning furniture designer for both residential and commercial projects. Since receiving his BFA in Industrial Design from Columbia College Chicago, Marc has been active in the fields of furniture, interior, and industrial design while contributing to the theory and philosophy that drive these vocations. For several years, Marc has partnered with numerous Chicago-based design studios working closely with partners and manufacturers to maintain project integrity as design concepts move through each stage to completion. Marc believes that the objects we choose to have in our lives tell a story and reveal our personal identities, how we live and who we are. Determining the aesthetic of objects around us, and what inspires us, helps in the strategic design decisions that enhance quality of life. The objects he designs strive to articulate function and intent through honest form and spatial awareness. You see this most strikingly in Link Outdoors FLUX collection where a thoroughly modern aesthetic is distinctly visible. Marc serves as Link Outdoors Director of Design and Product Development.
